Among his many achievements, Steve won America's Best Espresso award in 2017, and he has also received top honors in roasting, cup tasting, and various barista competitions. Known for his deep passion for coffee and his dedication to excellence, Steve's expertise extends from bean selection to the final brew, making him a true master of his trade.
Steve's teaching style is approachable and hands-on, making sure that students of all levels feel comfortable and supported. - Kat Padlan: Assisting Steve, Kat brings over 10 years of experience in the coffee and hospitality industry. She is the Head of Operations at Lucky's Coffee Roasters and has been with us since the beginning. As the founder of Kamay Coffee, a consulting company dedicated to helping businesses optimize their operations and structure, Kat has been instrumental in opening numerous restaurants and coffee shops in the IE, LA, and Socal region, both for small businesses and large corporations. She has assisted in instructing classes at the SCA Expo and has helped coach many cafes with their management, training, operations, and baristas.
