Barista Class I - Entry-Level Barista

$7500

6/28/2025 NEXT CLASSES: JULY DATES COMING SOON

We're excited to launch back some of our summer classes at Lucky's for 2025!

There has been a lot of request for these classes as people venture into specialty coffee.

Whether you’re dreaming of stepping behind a coffee bar or just want to make the best cup at home, this hands-on class is a great starting point.

We wanted this class to be affordable, but also one that adds value to the growth of every person's coffee journey.

About your Instructor:

Our instructor, Kat Padlan, has been in the coffee and hospitality/food industry for over 10 years. She is the Operations Manager for Lucky's and a cafe consult for café owners, managers, and leaders in the specialty coffee world. Kat’s experience spans working with renowned roasters, green coffee importers, celebrities, big brands, and small businesses; traveling across the United States to collaborate directly with different coffee brands and companies. She also has helped open several restaurants in the Inland Empire and worked with many small businesses in graphic design, marketing, and management.

Currently, she partners with farmers in Peru and the Philippines to develop sustainable ways to support their communities. As one of the founding team members of Lucky’s Coffee Roasters, Kat has been instrumental in shaping its success and loves to share her knowledge and love for coffee through education.

With her passion for coffee and wanting to fostering meaningful connections, Kat brings both expertise and heart to every project she takes on as she takes you through this class.

Class Breakdown from your Instructor:

  • Getting to Know the Espresso Machine & Bar: We’ll break down all the parts and how they work together for an everyday cafe in a commercial setting. We will also discuss a home setup as well!
  • Brewing Methods Basics: Learn how to pull consistently great shots and begin an understanding of other brewing techniques for your set up.

  • Water Quality and Espresso Dialing Basics: Discover why water quality matters in coffee and how dialing coffee can affect your taste. We'll go into some basic dialing recipes you can start with.

  • Milk Steaming 101: We will cover the fundamentals of good milk-texture for every cup you make to achieve a good cup of coffee and some latte art.
