Coffee Farmers and Consumers: A Sustainable Partnership

We’re excited to introduce this unique and informative class that explores the intricate relationship between coffee farmers and consumers, emphasizing the importance of sustainable practices in the coffee industry. We are partnering with Nadia and Gio, coffee farmers and family from Peru who begin to share their story and journey from another perspective of coffee. Their company Sample Peru, showcases the finest coffees in Peru in a subscription form for people to enjoy and experience what Peru coffee is truly like.

Course Overview:

  • Date: Saturday September 28th, 2024
  • Duration: 1 hour and 15 minutes ~ (Q&A at end of the hour)
  • Location: Roastery - 665 E. Foothill Blvd. STE B Claremont, CA 91711
  • Cost: $35

What You'll Learn:

Students in this informative class will learn about the challenges coffee farmers face, the impact of consumer choices, and how partnerships can foster a more equitable and sustainable coffee supply chain. This class not only provides valuable insights into the coffee industry but also supports a greater cause, as 100% of the class registration fees will be donated to schools and children in Peru, helping to empower local communities.

*A bag of Peru coffee will be given at the end of class to each student to take home and enjoy.

Instructors:

  • Nadia Q. Simone & Giomara Quispe 

    Sisters from Peru, Nadia and Gio upstarted Sample Peru, a sustainable coffee company to help coffee producing families from Quillabamba, Peru and the region of Cusco. They help Cusco coffee growers have a better quality of life and to provide the best Peruvian coffee to their customers and people, also helping the children of the local communities and beyond live a good life. They currently live in the states and continue to support their farm and families farms by traveling back and forth often.
