KENYA • MUMU'S ESTATE AB • DIRECT TRADE

A note from Lucky's:

With Mumu's Farm in particular, we are happy to showcase this coffee being and marketed for the first time. This is the first season and harvest of this farm. We are incredibly thankful to be able to showcase Mumu's hard work to the world. This coffee is extremely complex and bring out beautiful flavors in a Kenyan coffee.

This coffee is a direct trade and we are working directly with the farmers.

So we hope you can enjoy this coffee as it is special to us beyond just the taste, but supporting a community of people in Kenya who are continuing to flourish in the work they do.

About the Farm:

Meru County lies on the North Eastern slopes of Mount Kenya, just north of the equator. Coffee trees typically flower twice annually, thanks to two distinct monsoons.

Unlike much of Kenya, where the main harvest is in Q4, Meru County’s falls in Q2, aligning with Spring in the Northern Hemisphere.

About the Farmer:

Zakayo Murauki M’Anampiu (“Mumu”) farms 7 acres in Tangata Ward, Meru County, adjacent to Tangata Estate, at 1,000 masl. He farms 7 acres of SL28 and Ruiru 11 (grafted onto SL28 rootstock).

Mumu keeps spacing, pruning, and soil care consistent across te estate, an uncommon level of discipline that produces uniform cherries and dependable quality. He regularly shares his practices with neighboring farmers through hands-on demonstrations.
